A Personal Note

I was blown away by the many emails, texts, calls, and messages you sent last week. You shared with me your own cancer journeys and those of your family members. You offered to take me to the doctor and bring me casseroles. You sent me good thoughts and tons of support.

I couldn’t be more grateful to have you in my life. Please know that I read each and every message. And although I wanted to respond to everyone, I knew that doing so would deplete me even more given my hectic schedule.

I promise to respond to each of you individually, but for now I want you to know that I read and fully took in each and every message — thank you, thank you, thank you!

Life & Law in Balance Retreat at Miraval

We were just about the sign the contract with Miraval when I learned of my diagnosis and, as I shared last week, regardless of an easy and quick surgery – I’m looking at things through a different lens.

On the one hand, I absolutely love the retreat at Miraval. It’s perhaps my very favorite offering we have.

On the other hand, I know that marketing and filling the retreat can be a full-time job and we need more space to focus.

SO, we’re leaving it up to you guys.

If there’s enough interest, we’ll go ahead and sign the contract and hold the next Retreat on April 14-17. Otherwise, we’ll take a year off and do the next one in 2020.

It’s completely up to you!

If the Retreat at Miraval is something you’ve really been wanting to do, you can get details and pay your deposit HERE.

Ally Conversation with Joe Drayton of the National Bar Association

Last, I can’t wait for you to hear my interview with Joe Drayton, President of the National Bar Association, in the new series on the podcast called Ally Conversations.

Not only is this a podcast episode a must-listen if you want to support African-American attorneys, we have a great discussion about whether we should even have affinity groups at all and ways we can all get involved if we truly want to see everyone have an opportunity to rise to the top of the legal industry.

Listen to the interview HERE and then come join us in the new All Rise LinkedIn group, where the NBA is guest hosting this entire week.
