#66: What Are You Working For?

So, tell me… what’s your why? Why are you a lawyer? Why are you in your current job and role? Why do you wake up each morning and do what you do? In today’s episode, we’re going to discuss why it’s critical to start asking yourself (and others) these important questions.

Things you will learn in this episode:

  • The reason we need to start with “why”…
  • Why I think that living to work, and working to live, are both wrong
  • Why your initial answers to these important questions may not be the truth
  • The process of digging deeper to uncover your real motivation (and fears) and the benefits of doing so
  • How easy it is to get distracted and focus on the wrong things if we’re not clear as to our underlying desires
  • A recent example of when I lost sight of my why and attached meaning to the wrong thing (and how you can apply what I’ve learned from this experience)
