5-Minute Mood Booster

Has this ever happened to you?

You’re going through your day, feeling pretty good, when out of nowhere someone does or says something that takes you out.

And no matter what you do, you just can’t seem to let it go.

As you try to do your work or even have a conversation with someone else, you’re still thinking about whatever it is that made you upset. It becomes an obsession. You replay it over and over in your mind.

It could be a fight with your spouse, reading comments on Facebook political posts, learning about a mistake you or someone else made on a project or a flippant comment from an annoying co-worker. The ways in which we can get upset, off-kilter and stressed out are limitless. But we don’t have to let others or our emotions get the best of us.

If you find yourself in a bad mood and can’t seem to let it go, you can easily snap out of it with this proven mood booster method.

Studies show that mindfulness meditation can decrease levels of stress-inducing cortisol and increase levels of mood-boosting serotonin. Think of it as a natural cocktail to improve your outlook and well-being 🙂 Although a daily practice of 20 minutes is shown to have the best results, even a short meditation can help you in the moment.

I’ve recorded a short 5-minute guided meditation for you to have handy in a pinch.

So the next time you find yourself ready to pull out your (or someone else’s) hair, give this 5-minute mood booster meditation a try.
