Somewhere on a beach
I’m sitting on the beach, reading a good book, and thinking about an early fruity drink.
This vacation is long overdue!
I’m so grateful that my company is growing but I know I have to reign in the long hours and stress my body is feeling.
That’s why I’m unplugging completely for an entire week.
I even took my email off my phone!
That’s why I wrote this post before I left and asked my assistant to schedule it on my behalf.
If you’ve ever wondered whether you can (or should) take a vacation without checking in for work – or, more importantly, how to plan ahead so you can fully unplug – check out Hustle & Flow podcast episode #8: Working Vacations.
Because I’m taking time to give my busy mind a rest (which required careful planning in advance), I thought this week would be a great time to talk about how to reduce stress and anxiety by avoiding procrastination.
To help me do that, I invited my very first guest on the show.
Kara Loewentheil is a lawyer turned life coach extraordinaire.
She helps her clients tame their anxious lawyer brains and I think you’re going to love her!
In today’s episode, we talk about the lawyer brain, procrastination, and reframing your thoughts.
She even gave me some on-the-spot coaching.
Expect my new website soon –there will be no more procrastinating on this year-long project!
You can listen to my interview with Kara HERE.
Once you’ve had a chance to listen let me know what you project you’ve been avoiding and what you’re going to do to help get it done with less stress.
I’ll look forward to reading and responding to everyone’s comments when I return next week.
Talk soon,
Heather
P.S. If you could use help reducing your stress and anxiety, or otherwise taming your lawyer brain, Kara is leading a small group program that begins on September 11. You can learn more and sign-up HERE.
