Does work-life balance even exist?

This might surprise you but I don’t believe in work-life balance…

I know, I know.

I lead a retreat called Life & Law in Balance!

Everything I teach, even if it’s business development, is grounded in principles related to mindfulness and well-being.

Have I had a change in heart?

Nope, not at all.

I talk about balance simply because that’s the nomenclature used in the legal profession. That’s what people search out, so balance is the word I use to help attorneys find what they need… which isn’t really balance at all.

I’ve never really talked about this on the podcast before but I think it’s time.

In today’s Hustle & Flow podcast, I’m ditching the typical surface-level discussion of work-life balance and tackling some of the thornier issues – those related to privilege, guilt, and the underlying issues driving our desire for more so-called balance.

If you’ve ever struggled with finding balance or found this topic to be impossible to truly address, this episode is for you.

Listen here.

Then go out and find a little peace for yourself.
