Joy in the law
I used to hate my middle name.
Growing up, many in my family called me Miss Joy, which just seemed wrong.
Joy seemed too soft, too emotional, too feminine.
I felt like a walking contradiction because I always saw myself as loud, stubborn, and a bit masculine. And those traits didn’t seem to fit with my perception of joy.
Fast-forward to my early 30s when one personal crisis after another led me on a soul-searching to find…
(you guessed it)
JOY!
I now fully embrace joy (and my middle name) so it was no wonder that Diana Maier and I hit it off when we learned of each other’s passion for joy.
On today’s Hustle & Flow podcast episode, Diana shares what joy in the law means to her. We also talk about changing career paths (more than once), her own path to finding joy, building an innovative law firm with intention, and jumping in head first to fill a void in her legal community.
Diana has such a big heart and I can’t wait for you to get to know her better.

And if you’re in the Bay area (or want to visit) in late September, be sure to attend the Joy in the Law Conference. Click HERE to learn more.
Wishing you a joyful week!
