Follow the signs

Back in December, when I was celebrating my birthday in Marrakesh, I crossed paths with the one and only Oprah Winfrey.

Talk about a memorable birthday surprise. 😊

Then, on the flight from Marrakesh to Paris as we headed back home, I ended up getting moved to a different seat and sat beside a speaking agent who represents some of the most popular authors on the planet.

Just a few weeks later, as I was leading my opening retreat for The 2020 Experience at Miraval, I got to meet Ally Wambach and Glennon Doyle Melton.

It was so fun to have these chance encounters.

And it wasn’t that I was starstruck. I’ve met a ton of celebrities from my years as an entertainment and IP lawyer. Rather, it was crossing their paths and being in their worlds (I deeply admire and respect each of them), that felt like a clear sign.

You see, I’ve been diligently working on a new keynote and book over the last 8 months, which has been a huge time commitment on top of my already busy schedule.

Honestly, there have been times where it felt like a huge distraction for the business. I’ve experienced self-doubt and questioned who I think I am (sound familiar?).

But those run-ins affirmed for me that I was doing the right things and to keep pushing forward.

The fact that I’m getting to share today’s Hustle & Flow episode on signs just a few days after debuting Simple Courage™ to a fabulous audience in New Orleans isn’t lost on me.

The timing was completely unplanned, which made for a fun surprise as I was drafting this email. That’s the thing with signs – they can guide you and help you find more joy in the journey.

They can also trip you up and serve as an excuse… so be sure to use them wisely. (Don’t worry, I explain how to do that in the podcast episode.)

If you’re curious whether you’re on the right path or how you can use signs to guide you in your career and life, you’re going to love today’s episode.
